Born in Zapala, Argentina, Raúl Di Blasio began his musical training at age six.  He studied Latin musical traditions like the tango and bossa nova, but was mostly influenced by classical European composers including Beethoven and Rachmaninoff. As a teen, Di Blasio discovered the Beatles, and he immediately formed his own rock band, Los Diabólicos, which gained some success nationally and continued on until 1973.
He then returned to classical performance, touring South America throughout the middle of the decade. In 1978, Di Blasio began a five-year musical residency at a hotel in the Chilean resort city of Viña del Mar. At the end of his stay, he decided to refocus all of his creative energies into building a career as a serious performer, and in 1983 issued his debut LP on EMI-Chile.
Succeeding efforts on CBS-Chile were even more prosperous, and the media named Di Blasio El Pianista de Todos, Spanish for the People's Pianist. He moved to Miami in 1987, and three years later issued his BMG debut El Piano de América.
Its 1994 sequel sold over a million copies, and to support 1997's Solo, Di Blasio toured the Far East, and Desde Mexico followed a year later. The Brazilian-styled Di Blasio and Salt Peanuts appeared in 2000.

Di Blasio has made a historical duet in Santo Domingo with the international renowned French pianist Richard Clayderman. Di Blasio has also made duets with Alejandro Fernández, Marco Antonio Solís, José José, Armando Manzanero, Marco Antonio Muñiz, Yolandita Monge, Julio Iglesias, Rocío Dúrcal, Juan Gabriel, Michael Bolton, Los Tri-o, José Luis Rodríguez "El Puma", Cristian Castro, Vargas de Tecalitlán, José Feliciano, El Consorcio, London Symphony Orchestra, Fernando De La Mora, Wendy Pedersen, and more.

La Ley originally formed in 1987 by Andrés Bobe and Rodrigo Aboitiz with Mauricio Claveria, Beto Cuevas and Luciano Rojas in Santiago, Chile.

Luica “Shia Arbulu was the original vocalist of the band but returned to her hometown in Spain shortly after their first EP release titled La Luna, which is not considered part of La Ley’s discography.

With new vocalist Beto Cuevas, the band released the album Doble Opuesto in 1989 but with no success. In 1990, La Ley released Doble Opuesto after their second failed attempt, and their singles "Desiertos," "Tejedores de Ilusión," and "Prisioneros de la Piel" hit the popular charts in Chile, Argentina and Mexico. They reached more success with what they consider their official second album self-titled La Ley in 1993.

After Bobe's death in 1994, La Ley continued with a new guitarist, Pedro Frugone, and released two more albums, Invisible in 1995 and Vértigo in 1998. Before the release of Vertigo, Rodrigo Aboitiz left the band, and in 1999, in the middle of the tour, bassist Luciano Rojas, left the band. They went on to form a new group named Saiko with former La Ley member, Ivan Delgado.

The band became a trio after Aboitiz and Rojas’s departure from the band.  The musicians dropped their dark image and became more pop and less experimental. Not all of their fans were on board with the new style, but in 2000 the album Uno showed their growth as a group. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album.

La Ley also performed on MTV Unplugged in 2001, and released an album of the performance, which went on to win a Latin Grammy award. Their last official album Libertad earned them their second Latin Grammy in 2003. In 2004, they released a greatest hits compilation titled Historias e Histeria, which features three new songs “Mírate,” “Bienvenido al Anochecer,” and “Histeri.”
In 2005 Aboitiz and Rojas joined the trio at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival, and after a tour around Latin America, the band said goodbye in Buenos Aires on September 29 of the same year to work on their personal projects.
La Ley’s Beto Cuevas, Mauricio Claveria and Pedro Frugone are back together. Don’t miss their performance at the Laredo Energy Arena on Wednesday, May 11!

Top Rank - Texas Boxing Series ::

Date: Saturday May 21, 2016
Time: 7:00 PM

Top Rank's Boxing
SATURDAY, MAY 21, 2016
First bout to start at 7pm

LAREDO, Texas – (FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE)-Two-time World Title Challenger Raymundo Beltran of Sinaloa, Mexico will take on San Antonio, Texas native Ivan “Bam Bam” Najera as the main event for Top Rank Boxing at the Laredo Energy Arena on Saturday, May 21, 2016 and is scheduled for 10 rounds.

There will be seven (7) bouts in total. Bout card subject to change. Top Rank boxing will be televised nationally on the UniMas network.

"Top Rank is excited to be returning to Laredo for our first event of 2016," said Top Rank's Hall of Fame promoter, Bob Arum. "We had an opportunity to showcase a lot of quality fighters there in Laredo the past three years, but this main event bout between Beltran and Najera is by far the best fight we've had on the many cards we've presented there. "Beltran is a seasoned, veteran world class fighter with two world title challenges on his resume, in addition to being the North American Lightweight Champion. Najera is an up and coming kid with a good record (15-2) and an explosive fighting style. A win over a top rated guy like Beltran could project him into a world title fight. A loss by Beltran would mean him falling out of world title contention. So everything is on the line for both fighters. This will be a high drama fight on May 21 and the winner will be the fight fans in Laredo."
Xavier Villalon, General Manager of the SMG - Managed Laredo Energy Arena, added “Boxing is a popular sport in the city of Laredo, and we are thrilled that Top Rank Boxing is returning to the LEA. These are topnotch boxers on the bout card along with local boxers, and we invite the community to come support your favorite boxer.”

Raymundo Beltran

“I started boxing when I was eight years old,” Beltran said. “I did a couple of amateur fights, then I retired, (but) I came back when I was 14 or 15.”

At the age of 16, he moved to the United States with his family where he did amateur fights in Phoenix. Now 34, Beltran has been fighting professionally for 16 years. A contender at 135 pounds, he is 5-3-1 with 1 no contest in his last 10 fights. Beltran is known as one of Manny Pacquiao’s, main sparring partners for several years. Pacquiao is considered to be one of the greatest boxers of all time in history of the sport as he is the first and only eight-division world champion.

In Beltran’s last fight on May 1, 2015 in Las Vegas, he had a no contest against Takahiro Ao in a challenge for the vacant WBO lightweight world title. Beltran plowed through Takahiro Ao, delivering a bruising second-round knockout, but he did not win the vacant lightweight world title at stake because he failed to make weight, according to ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael. Beltran’s current record stands at 29-7-1 with 1 no contest and 17 knockouts.

Ivan “Bam Bam” Najera “Pura Sangre Chilanga”

Beltran’s opponent, 23-year-old Ivan Najera, is 16-1 with 8 knockouts. With five years fighting professionally, he has an aggressive style, keeps a relentless pace, and always creates exciting fights.

Najera started boxing at the age of 12. With his boxing gloves, he would play around with his friends, and one day his father enrolled him to a gym.

“My dad always wanted to fight, so he put me there.” Najera said. “I guess that’s how it all started.”

Najera fought in the Golden Gloves in San Antonio and was runner-up. He never competed at the national level but felt he has more of a professional style, hence he decided to turn pro.

He stayed active in the ring with four fights in 2013, three in 2014 and three in 2015. Najera is looking to rebound from losses in his last two fights. The most recent was last November 20, where he was caught cold, knocked down, and his left eye swelled shut against Saul Rodriguez. The referee stopped the fight in the first round.

In his previous fight on June 13, 2015, in New York, he lost a 10-round unanimous decision against 2012 Puerto Rican Olympian Felix Verdejo. Najera gave a determined effort, but was outpointed.

Other Features

Top Rank Boxing will also feature 21-year-old Alex “El Cholo” Saucedo. His current record stands at 21-0 with 14 knockouts.

Due to always getting into fights at school, his father’s friend suggested enrolling Saucedo at a gym to learn discipline. He was only nine years old when he first attended a gym.

“Ever since then to this day, I haven't stopped,” Saucedo said. "It helped me in school, too. I stopped getting in trouble, because every time I would get in trouble at school my dad would say 'No more gym for you!' I would have to be good at school so I could go to the gym.”

Saucedo had 165 amateur fights in the United States and about 25 in Mexico, which were in the junior division. He won the Junior Golden Gloves three times in a row and won the National PALs. He’s also won state and regional Junior Olympics.
Saucedo made his debut at the age of 17. Now 21 years old, he has been fighting professionally for four years. A sensational prospect and rising young star at 147 pounds, he turned pro before he was old enough to compete in the open division.

Saucedo stayed active in the ring and made good progress as a pro. He fought six times in 2012, four times in 2013, five times in 2014, and four times in 2015. He stepped up in class of opposition and gave impressive performances every time.

In his last fight on February 13 in Studio City, California, Saucedo scored his best win yet as a pro, an eight-round unanimous decision against Clarence Booth.

Adding to the bout card are Top Rank local fighters and undefeated rising prospects Jorge Castañeda, 19, with an all wins knockout record of 4-0, and Leopoldo “Polo Chico” Martinez, 22, with a record of 4-0. Making his pro-debut is Joshua Juarez, 18, with an outstanding amateur career including three times Junior Olympic Champion along with two-time regional golden glove champion. Other boxers include Claudinoei Lacerda, Eric Anton, Arturo Marquez, Even Torres and Gelacio Cruz.

Rank will be introducing relevant boxers on the card as the event approaches. Bout card subject to change.

The Top Rank boxing card will be televised nationally on the UniMas network. Vouchers for free admission will be distributed at local businesses and will be redeemed at the LEA box office. Each voucher will be good for 4 (four) tickets in a designated area of the LEA. Upgrades are available for $15 and $5 with free ticket.

VIP Tables seating 10 will be available at $550 - $650, and top tables for four at $180.  Reserved seating will be $55, $20, and $10, facility fee included. For table purchasing information please call (956) 523-7736. Please note tables are not available on-line.

Tickets are available for purchase at the LEA Box Office, Ticketmaster.com, select Ticketmaster Outlets, or charge by phone at 800-745-3000.

Boxing Hall of Fame promoter, Bob Arum's Top Rank, Inc. is considered the sport’s biggest and most successful promoter. His company successfully guided the careers of over 200 World Champions, including greats Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao and many others.

Casting Crowns BIO:

With 8.8 million albums sold to date—including one RIAA Double Platinum Album, four Platinum and six Gold records, and two Platinum and four Gold DVDs—Casting Crowns remains the top selling act in Christian music since 2007. The award-winning group—consisting of Mark Hall (lead singer/songwriter), Melodee DeVevo (violin, cello, vocals), Brian Scoggin (drums), Megan Garrett (piano, keyboards, vocals), Juan DeVevo (guitar, vocals), Chris Huffman (bass guitar, vocals) and Josh Mix (lead guitar, vocals)—got its start as a youth group worship band originally based in Florida. Today, each of the seven members remain active in student ministry at their respective churches in Atlanta, where Hall is serving in his 23rd year in youth ministry as student pastor at Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church.

Building on a strong foundation forged by their self-titled major label debut in 2003 that went

Double Platinum, Casting Crowns has earned some of the industry’s most prestigious accolades, including six GRAMMY nominations, winning a GRAMMY for the band’s 2005 effort,

Lifesong. In addition, over the past decade, Casting Crowns has garnered 17 GMA Dove

Awards, three American Music Awards and two Billboard Music Awards, among others. Most recently, the band was named Artist of the Year exclusively by fans at the 2014 K-LOVE Fan Awards.

Their chart-topping songs—including “Who Am I,” “Voice of Truth,” “Praise You In This Storm,” “Until The Whole World Hears,” “Glorious Day (Living He Loved Me),” “Courageous” and “Jesus, Friend of Sinners”—have earned them nine No. 1 hits at radio and four RIAA Gold certified digital singles. Furthermore, the band has been featured by a variety of high-profile media outlets such as Billboard, Associated Press, Reuters, Rolling Stone, Atlanta-Journal Constitution, Charisma, HomeLife and CCM Magazine, among others. In 2008, the band performed on TNT’s annual “Christmas In Washington” concert special alongside Kristin Chenoweth, Julianne Hough, Darius Rucker and Straight No Chaser. In addition, Casting Crowns has appeared on “Good Morning America,” NBC’s “Today,” CNN, MSNBC, “Fox News,” “Fox & Friends,” “Huckabee” and more. They also had their debut performance at Carnegie Hall in January 2015.

Always looking for opportunities to use their platform for greater good, over the course of their career, Casting Crowns has seen more than 80,000 children sponsored through their advocacy efforts at concerts. Moreover, the band was a part of a team of first-responders who helped distribute supplies to survivors following the earthquake in Haiti in 2010.

Their tours have taken them all over the world, helping to spread the Gospel message globally.

The band was the only U.S. musical act hand-picked to perform at a nationally-televised arts festival in North Korea in 2007 and was invited back again in 2009. Meanwhile, in the States, the band continues to sell-out arenas across the country. In fact, “The Altar and the Door Tour” set attendance records in the U.S. with 450,000 tickets sold in 83 markets and was ranked as the top-grossing Christian tour of the 2007/2008 season according to Pollstar.

The band recently wrapped its headlining “Thrive Tour,” which visited 76 cities throughout 2014 in support of their seventh studio offering, Thrive (Reunion Records/Beach Street Records).

Special guest and an American Christian musician, John Tibbs will open for the Casting Crowns.  Tibbs showcases his signature southern heartland roots rock sound, with biblically-based autobiographical lyricism. He has released three independently-made extended plays, Origins in 2010, Swallowing Death, Breathing Life in 2012, and Anchor in 2013.

His first major-label release, Dead Man Walking, was released by Fair Trade Services, in late October 2015. The single, "Dead Man Walking", featuring Ellie Holcomb, has broken through on the Billboard magazine Christian Airplay chart. His first studio album, Dead Man Walking, is scheduled for a February 2016 release.

5th Annual Summerland Tour
Lineup and Dates Announced

Set to Feature Sugar Ray, Everclear, Lit & Sponge

New York, NY – April 11, 2016 – The 5th annual Summerland Tour is proud to announce that Sugar Ray, Everclear, Lit and Sponge will perform at each date of this year’s acclaimed ‘90s alternative music tour. The Summerland Tour, previously heralded by Rolling Stone as one of the "10 Hottest Summer Package Tours", kicks off on July 8th in Louisville, KY, and will include more than 25 dates throughout the US including Laredo, TX on Wednesday, August 17. For more information, please visit: http://summerlandtour.net/.

Formed in 2012 by Art Alexakis, lead guitarist and vocalist of Everclear, the Summerland Tour has featured notable nostalgic alternative rock bands such as Soul Asylum, Eve 6, Space Hog, Gin Blossoms, Marcy Playground, Live, Fuel, American HiFi, The Toadies and Filter. Tickets for Summerland Tour 2016 are set to go on sale Friday, April 15th.

With tremendous excitement towards this year’s Summerland Tour, Alexakis explains, "This is the kind of line up I've dreamed of when I started the Summerland Tour. We kicked it off with Sugar Ray for the first year, so it feels great to have band join us for the 5th Anniversary. We love Lit & Sponge and cannot wait to share the stage with them. This lineup is stacked and this summer is going to be an adventure.”

Sugar Ray (http://sugarray.com/)

Sugar Ray was groundbreaking from the get-go, including among their ranks a real live DJ – incredibly, unheard of in a rock band at that time. Kicking off with 1995’s “LEMONADE AND BROWNIES,” the Newport Beach quintet unleashed a series of albums that Mark McGrath describes as “love letters to the music we loved, with no irony just pure enthusiasm.” 1997’s “FLOORED” saw the band refine its multi-faceted sound with the assistance of GRAMMY® Award-winning producer David Kahane (Sublime, Paul McCartney, The Strokes). The album proved Sugar Ray’s popular breakthrough, earning 2x platinum certification from the RIAA, fueled in part by the #1 hit single, “Fly.”

For over two decades, Everclear's sound has reflected the rock, post-punk, and singer/songwriter influences of Art Alexakis, including acts like X, the Replacements, the Pixies, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, and Elvis Costello. The band found success with their first three albums on Capitol Records, Sparkle and Fade, So Much for the Afterglow, and Songs from an American Movie Vol. One: Learning How to Smile, which were all certified platinum.

Last year, Everclear released their ninth studio album titled Black Is The New Black via The End Records/ADA. Across the album, the insistent kick of drummer Sean Winchester, athletic groove of bassist Freddy Herrera, and ridiculously skilled guitar shred of Davey French join forces behind the storm of giant guitar riffs swinging mightily from song to song. A bit of tasteful keyboards from Josh Crawley add atmospheric punch to songs that could crush a tiny dive bar or destroy the cheap seats in the world’s biggest arena with equal force.

Lit (http://litband.com)

A major player throughout the post-grunge boom of the late '90s, Lit featured the combined talents of frontman A. Jay Popoff, his guitar-playing brother Jeremy, bassist Kevin Baldes, and drummer Allen Shellenberger. The group formed in 1990 in Orange County, California, where it initially performed metal-influenced music under the name Razzle. After changing their name, Lit began embracing a spunky brand of punk-pop that helped attract a local following in California. The group sold out local venues (including Club 369 in Fullerton) and issued two recordings: an EP, Five Smokin' Tracks from Lit; and the full-length Tripping the Light Fantastic, which arrived during the spring of 1997 and became a college radio hit.

Sponge (http://spongetheband.com)

Sponge has proven to be one of the Motor City's heaviest hitters after gaining international notoriety with their debut album "Rotting Piñata” (Sony). Emerging from Detroit with hits like "Plowed" and "Molly (16 Candles)" Sponge received massive airplay on radio stations from coast to coast and were in heavy rotation on MTV. Having shared stages the world over with Guns N’ Roses, Nickelback, Iggy Pop, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Kiss, to name just a few, Sponge continues to be one of rock’s most sought after live acts.

As Latin Rock’s most engaging arena-level live band, longtime cultural ambassadors and powerful social advocates, Maná, will take 80 tons of state of the art concert production gear  to the road across the United States with the goal of uniting and inspiring Latino communities to make their voices heard this fall.

“We have baptized our new tour  "Latino Power," because with the strength of their collective vote this year, U.S. Latinos can further empower our community – demanding more respect and affecting real change in the living conditions and opportunities for our people” – Fher Olvera of Maná

Having formed in Guadalajara, Mexico in 1986, the quartet of Fher Olvera, Alex González’ Sergio Vallín and Juan Calleros have gone on to be global envoys for the Latin Rock genre, while selling over 40 million albums.  To date, Maná has been recognized by their musical peers with four GRAMMY and eight LATIN GRAMMY Awards.  Here in the United States, Maná holds and impressive nine #1 albums and ten #1 singles -more than any other band in the history of Billboard’s “Hot Latin Songs” chart). Maná is also unquestionably the top-drawing all-Spanish language concert band in the U.S. –with notable attendance records to their name, and the New York Times declaring the group has: “Redefinied ‘Crossover’ in Latin Pop… with its mix of love songs and more pointed political material about immigration and the environment, …Maná has a mass appeal nearly unrivaled in the Latin pop world.”

For The “LATINO POWER TOUR,” Maná will be sharing a new production that will be combining their greatest career hits, latest chart-topping songs from their Latin Grammy winning Cama Incendiada álbum, and uniting fans with organizations like Voto Latino and local advocates to provide both the inspiration and information needed to have their voices count come November.
